Reviewed: Men's herringbone compression socks by Soxxy

Soxxy are a compression hosiery brand that offers a wide range of fashionable styles for men and women.

We were really pleased to be sent a pair of the Soxxy men's Herringbone compression socks, and after a period of trialling and wear are publishing this review.

These socks are part of Soxxy's range of compression socks for men.

You can read more about Soxxy and the founder Sarah Stabile on the Soxxy website.

We were eager to try these compression socks for two main reasons. Firstly, we had heard a lot about Soxxy products. Secondly, the herringbone pattern is really stylish!

Packaging

The Soxxy men's Herringbone compression socks are very simply packaged.

The socks are neatly folded and then housed in a nicely designed plastic bag that provides product and sizing information. It's pretty basic but it does the job well.

Material and features

The Soxxy men's Herringbone compression socks are described as follows:

"Soxxy's rich Herringbone design is so stylish no one will ever suspect you're wearing compression socks. The graduated compression will attack 'cankles' and muscle soreness with a vengeance. The wide top band makes them easy to pull on and off."

These socks are designed to provide 20 - 30 mmHg of graduated compression. They will increase circulation, as well as decrease any swelling in then leg and muscle soreness. These compression socks are also designed to reduce the risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). The Soxxy website provides more information on DVT.

The socks are made with 85% Nylon and 15% Lycra.

The fabric is really soft and stretchy. One can immediately tell that these are a top quality product that has been manufactured to a really high standard.

The socks have a 5cm wide top band which provides comfortable support and keeps the socks in place.

There is reinforcement at both the heal and ankle.

Fit and sizing

The Soxxy men's Herringbone compression socks are available in three sizes:

  • Medium
  • Large
  • Extra Large
I tried the XL size as this corresponded with my shoe size 45 (European).

To get the socks on you need patience and some practice. The compression level is really quite strong (as it needs to be for the benefits provided) and you can't just pull the socks on in an instant.

The technique that worked best for was to put the foot into the sock and make sure that the toe and ankle were aligned in the correct position. Then gradually work the sock over the foot making sure that the material is distributed evenly. Once the socks are over the foot and ankle it is quite easy to pull them up the calf.

Once on, they stay comfortably in place and need no pulling up or adjusting.

Sizing was spot on for me. The socks are a very comfortable wear indeed are very soft on the skin.

To test the impact of the compression features, I wore one of the Soxxy herringbone compression socks on one leg and a normal cotton sock on the other. After a period of sitting at my desk working, one could really feel the benefits. The leg with the compression sock felt so more energised and this impacted on circulation overall in that leg.

The compression effect is delivered in a targeted way to the ankle and calf, so the foot remains comfortable and without any constriction or discomfort.

I trialled these socks on another day when out and about and on my feet. The level of comfort and support was really excellent.

Conclusion

The Soxxy men's Herringbone compression socks are a great product for any men who are conscious about leg health. They provide a superior level of comfort and support, as well as protecting against a range of health conditions.

They are particularly good for men playing sports and taking part in outdoor activities, as well as smart and comfortable everyday wear. Also great for flying when the risk of DVT can be higher.

We loved the smart herringbone pattern also.
